pHiLoSoPhY is the portion of my website where I'll post my essays, media reviews, or otherwise bloggy content. You may have seen some content here on my Substack, but after completely losing access, I decided to shift gears and start hosting those pieces and future pieces here as well.
Why pHiLoSoPhY?
It's my belief that most writing is essentially philosophical. Especially essays, reviews, and critique. But honestly, I'm embarrassed by this belief, and embarrassed generally by my interest in philosophy. It feels like every time I look closer at writing as a medium, I find philosophy.
Very few of my writings here will directly reference greater philosophical cannon or name famous philosophers. I have no pet philosopher (except for maybe Kafka), and most of what I know about formal philosophy came in disjointed blurbs, references, screenshots, and one undergrad classical philo class.
But mainly this is a blog!
What will you post here?
- Essays about a variety of topics including transness, politics, personal experiences, and media.
- Reviews and links to reviews of TV shows, movies, books, music, and games.
- Blog type writing, usually an essay idea that never became fully formed.
- Rare discussion of magic and spells.
- Tutorials as a part of my "I was never taught that" series, wherein I give detailed instructions for "simple" tasks I was never taught to do.
- Lists of stuff I like or recommend.
